Max
currently serves as the Chair of the Health Law Section of the
State Bar of Texas Specialty Certification Committee. He also
serves as the chair of the Advisory Commission of the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization on Health Law Certification. In
this capacity, he and the Commission members review the
credentials of applicants who apply for certification. The
review considers experience in representing physicians,
hospitals, licensed direct care providers, managed care
systems and other components of the health care industry. The
certification exam, which is more fully described at www.tbls.org
covers areas such as fraud and abuse, antitrust, state and
federal health care regulation health care regulation,
contracting, licensure, patients rights, medical
staff/professional rights, physician practice issues, business
organizations among others.
Mr. Maxwell is active in health
law activities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and state wide
activities in connection with State bar Health Law Section. He
currently serves on the Section's "Know Your Rights"
committee which is developing an informational publication to
benefit the Texas patient community. Max invites the general
public and legal community to contact him on health law
professional activities.
